The Gold Cup dates have been changed back to the original of July 9-11. This is the same weekend as Valleyfield, so any possibility of the ACHA GPs going to Detroit seems gone. Maybe the GP West boats will still go?
GP-88 will be at the Treasure Coast Regatta in Jensen Beach, Florida on April 24th and 25th. There will be a good number of GPs at this brand new race along with other hydroplane and flatbottom classes. This should be an excellent race in the Sunshine State and it will be broadcast live on Hydroplane Quebec.
The 2010 ACHA Grand Prix schedule is coming together nicely. Take a look at the schedule page to view all the details including a map. The Detroit and Morgan City dates remain tentative but all other dates should stay the same. Check back soon for further updates to the schedule, including a possible additional early season race.
GP-88 will be part of the Motorsports 2010 show in Oaks, PA. The show takes place at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center from January 22nd to the 24th. GP-88 will on display at the APBA Region 3 booth. Come stop by and say hi.
GP-88 ran an exhibition at the Wildwood Hydrofest on Sunday. The boat looked great, but upon returning to the pits the crew found a broken rocker and metal shavings in the oil filter. There is not enough time to solve the engine problems before this weekend’s World Championships in Morgan City, La. Tom believes they have identified the cause of the recent mechanical failures and should have them solved for the beginning of the 2010 race season. Good luck to all at Worlds.
