At Hampton Tom had a water intake line problem on Saturday as Bill Darby in the JS-13 GEICO boat won the Summer Nationals. JS-7 Rolling Thunder won Sunday’s race to and a good weekend of boat racing in Virgina.
Just finished adding some pictures from Lakeland, Florida by J. Michael Pakradooni and Scott Hindman.
The race this weekend in Tonawanda, NY was blown out. The GPs were able to do some time trials and testing on Sunday. The rough conditions kept everyone else off the water except for a couple vintage Jersey Speed Skiffs. The boat ran well in the chop but a bushing on the rudder cracked during the second time out. Hoping for better conditions and a chance to race in a couple weeks in Beauharnois, Quebec.
The boat and crew headed back down to Maryland for testing. As we waited around for an extremely low tide to come back in the wind died down and the temperature climbed. With beautiful conditions we got the boat out on the Bohemia River. The boat ran well until it ran out of fuel. Knew we forgot something. Getting ready for our first race this weekend in Tonawanda, NY.
We took the boat down to Two Rivers for testing. Rainy and cold weather could not dampen our excitement to get the boat started and on the water. Engine work took longer than expected but it successfully started. The water test was postponed until next week.
GP-88 arrived in Pennsylvania and is being prepared for the first race of the season. Take a look at the pictures of the recently completed boat.
Updated the website. Much more to come as we approach the 2008 racing season. Check out the pictures of GP-88 nearing completion at HydroplaneQuebec.com.
